It will be a 90-minute guided tour of the Pacific Grove where John Steinbeck and Ed Rickets met, lived, worked, and played for nearly three decades (1920s – 1950s). Although most people associate Salinas and Cannery Row with Steinbeck and Ricketts, it is in Pacific Grove where Ricketts opened his business – Pacific Biological Laboratories, lived with his family, and met John Steinbeck when John and his new bride moved to Pacific Grove. It was in Pacific Grove where Steinbeck achieved what is arguable his most prolific writing and story development period.

Join the Heritage Society on October 1 or 2, aboard a comfortable tour bus that will introduce you to Steinbeck and Ricketts’ Pacific Grove. See where they lived, worked, and played, as well as the many locations that found their way into Steinbeck’s novels, Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday.

Tour times and price will be announced in August. Tickets will go on sale to HSPG members mid-August and the general public early September. Tickets are limited.
