The Heritage Society Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Sally Griffin Senior Center at 700 Jewell Ave.,Pacific Grove. Giving the keynote talk will be Jonathan Lammers, an architectural historian with Page & Turnbull in San Francisco. Mr. Lammers, who spoke at last year’s Heritage House Awards ceremony, is very knowledgeable about local architecture. We asked him to discuss the design of Asilomar and the work of architect Julia Morgan.
“This is actually right up my alley,” Mr. Lammers noted. “We have been working on several historic structure reports for the Asilomar concessionaire. I would also like to add information about the mid-century work of John Carl Warnecke, including his additions to the original Asilomar dining hall, which is currently in the process of being rehabilitated.” It seems that we are in for a treat!
Refreshments will be served. Board members will be introduced and new officers for 2012 will be elected, so please plan to attend this important and interesting meeting.
